I am a counseling psychologist offering individual therapy, consultation, and supervision through my practice in Maine and Massachusetts. My emphasis is working with professionals and educators experiencing conflicts in their lives which lead to anxiety, stress, and depression. I grew up in Western Maine and currently live in Midcoast Maine. In addition to private practice, I have taught in undergraduate and graduate psychology programs in Massachusetts and Oregon.
Psychologist Background
Psychological Services
Psychotherapy is a helpful way to get relief from stress and suffering while finding meaning and purpose in life. Psychotherapy is a chance to dedicate time each week to better understand your emotions, relationships, and thinking patterns so that you will be able to face new challenges and make sense of past experiences. Change occurs through building confidence and challenging one’s beliefs in a safe and trusting relationship. Through curiosity, noticing patterns, and using humor we will work together to navigate the challenges you are facing.

Therapy Scheduling
Please reach out at 413-242-6589 and I will get back to you by the next business day. You can also email me at btwoodphd@gmail.com to request a free 15–20-minute initial phone consultation. During the initial phone call, I will share more information about my approach to therapy, hear about what brings you to therapy, and then we will both decide if it makes sense to schedule an intake meeting. I offer therapy through a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform. Sessions are scheduled weekly and are usually 45-55 minutes in length. I am licensed to practice in Maine and Massachusetts. —
